The Healing Power of Art

Do you believe art can…

Offer a way to visualize inner peace,
Celebrate communities,
Transport us to a time and place apart from our own?

Art has always helped human beings understand the world, to learn lessons from the past and see potential for the future. The arts introduce new perspectives and inspire inward reflection. Art itself communicates; it offers symbolism and hope, expresses feeling, and commemorates events.

Healing has been recorded in art through time, to instruct, to comfort, to encourage recovery. There is a profound connection between creativity and healing. Challenges in life often summon growth and allow us to cultivate strength and resilience. Many artists seek to heal themselves through their creations. Art can also reflect and inspire emotional and spiritual healing for others. Looking at art can be transformative.

This exhibition joins together artworks made long ago with pieces from today. The connections that exist in these objects reveal timeless themes and demonstrate the power of art to connect individuals through space and time.

We invite you to reflect deeply on human tenacity, the power of relationships, and the possibility for art to restore our spirits.
